Wednesday, April 30, 2008...Surgery Day

8 am...They came to get Erin for surgery. I was concerned, but had a sense of peace. I went with her down the hall of area that led to the OR I was able to lay on the bed with her until they gave her a sedative and she went to sleep. I knew what was coming and of course I started to cry. I looked at the nurse and said, “I know that this is what you do everyday, but this is my little girl, please take care of her.” I stood there as I watched them wheel her off. At this point there was nothing I could do. Nothing!

Erin's heart rate has started to drop again. I didn't get much sleep last night. It was actually a long night. Steven got the kids ready for school. After school the will go to play with the Moses Family. Thank You Anne Marie! I was sitting there looking at Erin when my mother came walking into the room. I just knew she would be coming. I just knew it. The very thing I needed at that moment was a hug from my mother and there she was. A tender mercy from the Lord. I was very glad to see her. She brought me some water, fruit and snacks.

On Wednesday April 23rd Erin fell at the park and hit her head very hard. Since then she has been suffering from very intense headaches. They have been so bad that even medication doesn't relieve it. After a few days of that I began to be very concerned. I took Erin to the doctor today and while sitting in his office she passed out. The doctor was so concerned he ordered an ambulance and sent us to PCMC. I called Steven and my mom to let them know.

Thank you to everyone for your calls, concern, love and prayers concerning Erin during her recent surgery and stay at PCMC. It has been another long journey. She did not enjoy the hospital and made sure that I knew it. I think that since she had been through this before and knew what to expect it was a little harder on her. I will post some pictures of her at the hospital.

Over all she is doing good. We are so glad to be home. I will be posting the details of her stay at the hospital and what the doctors have told us.

Again Thank You!

Your $10 may help save Erin's life

Remember when Nancy wrote us in December explaining she was flying Erin to Mexico for a necessary treatment trip? Well, due to insufficient funds, it was seriously postponed! If each of us -- and any friends you may want to include -- join us RIGHT NOW in making a $10, $25 or $40 donation, we can raise the $2500 in time and Erin can still make her angel flight next Wednesday, January 23rd.

Our donations go to the Erin Hope Foundation, a 501(c)3 and are tax deductible.

Details of the MRI on October 1, 2007

It has been almost 2 years since we started this journey with Erin. We went from being told that there was no hope no matter what we did she would die, to where we are now. The past 2 years has been like a roller coaster. Up and down. For the most part we have been on the up side lately. She really is a miracle and an amazing little person.

We decided that since the two year mark was coming up to do another MRI just so we would know where she was at. So on October 1, 2007 we took her in for another MRI. I fully expected to hear the words that she was clean and there was no regrowth of of the tumor. But such was not the case. After the MRI we were shown the scans and saw that yes the tumor had started to grow. It is very small. I believe it could have been so much worse but she after all is the miracle child.

Erin loved the Panda Bears. We watched the bear eat and she loved it.
